Dance and theatre intertwining to provoke reflection on masculinity and virility.

Clinch is a production that challenges the dictates of modern masculinity and reflects on how men are compelled to publicly affirm their masculinity. A duet fusing dance and theatre, it delves into the socio-cultural burden ingrained in the rejection of anything different. A piece inviting reflection on cowardice as a disgrace, on men’s struggle to articulate doubts and fears, and on the reluctance to show vulnerability.

Àngel Duran holds a Degree in Dance from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), and in Art and Design from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). In addition, he has received training as an actor in Madrid and Barcelona. With experience working for various European choreographers and companies, he has conducted workshops both within and outside of Europe. His work, acknowledged with several international awards, revolves around delving into the human condition through language research. Drawing inspiration from philosophy and theatre, Àngel Duran’s artistic endeavours navigate the poetry of movement and emotional expression, aiming to connect with the audience and invite them into his unique imaginative world. His performances have graced stages in Europe and America, and he recently received the Butaca Award for Best Male Dance Performance.
