Que et fessis vella tu / Sí que em faria escopir sang is a contemporary dance piece inspired by the inner universe of the poet Gabriel Ferrater. This dance duet emerges from the challenge of translating a literary work into the language of movement.

Gabriel Ferrater was a brilliant and compelling figure of the past century – a century steeped in copious gin, fascist melancholy, tobacco (in abundance), books (many), women, young women (many) and the great challenge of conjuring sincerity through the poetry of his time.
Que et fessis vella tu / Sí que em faria escopir sang explores the author’s personality, his sensitivity, his visceral self-expression, and above all, his profound conflict: his relationship with women and the passage of time.
The spoken word and dance intertwine at the Marià Vayreda Library with Balla’m un llibre, a series of short choreographies inspired by literary texts. This initiative is a collaboration between the Association of Dance Professionals of Catalonia and the Library Service of the Department of Culture.

LaFonte is a contemporary dance company founded in 2022 by Laura Azuaga and Clio Van Kerm. Its work is characterised by a poetic vision, duet-based performance and striking visual beauty. The company is currently researching the relationship between the body and desire, exploring how bodies manifest physical, emotional or mental struggles and their urgent need for resolution. In the case of Gabriel Ferrater, a 20th-century Catalan poet, this resolution is found in poetry. Que et fessis vella tu / Sí que em faria escopir sang received the Òrbita Contemporary Dance Award (2023) and was presented at the Me Ya Be Festival in Kinshasa (Congo). The piece is currently touring across Catalonia.
