FLIP is a solo dance piece on roller skates, paying tribute to Éric Martin, an acclaimed contemporary dancer and former figure skater.

FLIP is a Dance Object on Wheels built around Éric Martin, a dancer whose artistic journey began on the ice. Destined for a high-level sporting career, his dreams were cut short by a serious injury. Yet this dramatic event marked the start of an extraordinary path: he went on to choreograph the opening and closing ceremonies of the Albertville Winter Olympics and collaborated with leading dancers and choreographers, including Philippe Decouflé and Christian Rizzo.
FLIP is a tribute, a celebration and a chance for Marta Izquierdo Muñoz and Éric Martin to relive their youth with humour and passion – bringing skating back to where they first practised it: the streets!

Marta Izquierdo worked as a performer before founding the company [lodudo] producción. Her projects have explored themes such as Moroccan culture, codes of masculinity, female communities, traditional Catalan and Provençal dances and the use of a rudimentary, archaic object: the stick. FLIP (2024) is her first creation specifically conceived for public space. She also creates works tailored to specific audiences, always in close dialogue with the local environment. From 2025, she will embark on a new series of projects focused on carnival and cabaret – a journey of research and creation into masked dances during carnival in French Guiana and the figure of the Wild Man in Pyrenean carnivals [a folkloric character embodying untamed nature and ancestral traditions].
