A dance and live music performance. A show that creates imaginary worlds around the concepts of air and breathing through dance, music and the rhythm of speech.
THIS IS NOT (an act of love & resistance) is a musical and choreographic piece for nine female performers, among which four brass instrument musicians and five dancers.
How do we generate energy through this element and what does it mean to breathe together today? If air were a harbinger of things to come, what imaginative worlds and representations of the future would emerge from it?
Here, air is imagined as a container of traces and resonances, an element of interdependence of bodies, a canvas to create a choreographic mesh.
Aina Alegre is a choreographer and dancer. After multidisciplinary training in dance, theatre and music in Barcelona, Aina Alegre joined the CNDC in Angers in 2007. In 2014, she founded the company STUDIO FICTIF in Paris to acompany her projects and creations. Since then, her work has been presented in various countries including Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, Peru and Romania. Aina Alegre is interested in choreographic creation as a way of opening up imaginary worlds around the body. Her work explores the body in plastic environments, and her choreographic writing is closely linked to rhythm and music. In January 2023, Aina Alegre became co-director of the Centre chorégraphique national de Grenoble in tandem with dancer Yannick Hugron.
