A large-scale, participatory street action for all audiences, inviting us to reflect on the relationship between society and nature in a time of climate emergency.

Natura Centrum Est is a collective experience that urges us to reconnect with nature and place it at the heart of our lives. A street procession through the city centre will bring together organisations, schools, collectives, institutions, local artists and anyone who wishes to take part. This open-air performance weaves together music, dance, moving backdrops, banners, animal figures and mobile stage elements to create an immersive experience in the public space. We will journey from civilisation to wildness, to savagery, before casting all our worries into a blazing bonfire at the Plaça de Braus.
As part of this artistic and participatory project, Natura Centrum Est also includes a series of activities – including workshops, exhibitions and performances – that will take place in Olot before, during and after the Sismògraf festival.

Marcel·lí Antúnez has developed a truly unique and iconoclastic visual universe. His work spans robotic installations, interactive actions and experiences with various collectives, most notably La Fura dels Baus, a theatre company he co-founded. He has presented installations and performances at numerous museums, festivals and theatres, including La Villette in Paris, the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) in London, FILE (Festival Internacional de Linguagem Eletrônica) in São Paulo, the Tokyo Cultural Centre, DEAF (Dutch Electronic Art Festival) in Rotterdam, Performing Arts in Seoul and La Meduse in Quebec. Among his many accolades are the First Prize at the Étrange Festival in Paris (1994), the Max Award Spain (2001), the FAD Prize (2001) and the City of Barcelona Prize (2014).
Since 2009, he has been creating collaborative works and partnering with multiple collectives to engage in the creative processes of various projects. He is currently focused on the Natura Centrum Est project, driven by a desire to place nature at the heart of human existence.
