Insecta Dance Music is a live music show, an augmented sound reality concert based on the sound of insects, the notes and rhythms they produce when they communicate. An example of experimental electronic music created from biophonies (layers of the soundscape produced by a set of living organisms) recorded in natural environments. Insects, their rhythms and melodies form the basis of the music, and the verses emulate their communication patterns and evoke the way of life of these intriguing and industrious creatures that play an essential role in the planet’s sustainability and the usual soundscapes.
Jansky is an electronic music and poetry duo formed by Jaume Reus (musician, producer and environmentalist) and Laia Malo (poet, translator and music). Driving forces behind the subgenre known as electroverse, they have taken part in festivals including Sónar (Barcelona), Kregi Sztuki (Poland), Inverfest (Madrid), Sound City (UK), Fiesta des Suds (France), Jazzablanca (Morocco), Seoul Music Week (South Korea) and Map Sonoro (Argentina). They regularly perform in clubs and venues, literary festivals, art festivals, galleries and museums. Recently, they have performed at Eurosonic (Gröningen), the Scènes d’Europe Festival (Reims, France) and the Vic Live Music Market. Their work has garnered awards from SUNS Europe, Enderrock and Sound of the Year.
