The car is one of civilisation’s most powerful symbols, a symbol of freedom and wealth, an indicator of status. Nevertheless, it can sometimes become a substitute for a home, a temporary place to spend the night. What if our privacy were forced to exist in the public space? What if we had to nest somewhere random? Get by with no roof over our heads, homeless.
I just crash in my car tonight, no big deal, it's like camping. One night turns into two nights, three nights becomes a week, a week becomes a month… Don't want to tell people. Better keep it hidden.I always try to park behind the warehouses, behind those open spaces. I drive around right at night, making sure it is quiet and empty, no more people around. I’m home. This is it.The wind blows and the truck shakes a little, is somebody trying to get in?
