Plaça de Braus

The Plaça de Braus in Olot is the oldest bullring in Catalonia and is listed as a protected cultural asset. Built at the base of Montsacopa volcano, its walls are made of volcanic stone. Following the declaration of Olot as an anti-bullfighting city and the abolition of any bull-related activity, this space has been designated for other non-bullfighting activities. Performing arts, music, circus acts and cultural proposals in general have played a primordial role in the new uses made of this space.
